Casas Típicas
In the southwest
of Madeira you may find on 400 mtrs above sea level some tastefully
cared holiday facilities gathering five small homes, a swimming
pool and flowering gardens. The constructions of the holiday homes
are modelled on the tradtional rural architecture. Thus the name
of the facilities means: tipical houses of the island of Madeira.
Originally the deeply down inclined roofs of simple farm houses
were thatch covered: with Casas Tipicas the tile substituted the
thatch. As well in the interior of the holiday homes everything
is different.
The five Casas Típicas have each an area of nearly 40 squ.mtrs.The
interior decoration is not luxury but light and friendly inspired.
A large living room has on one side a kitchenette (2,5 x 2,5 mtrs.)
for self-catering ambitions. A cooker with two hot plates, worktop,
sink ? and a fridge are the technical condition of a comfortable
breakfast or a fish meal in the evening taken on the patio in
front of the cosy home. On the other side of the living room is
a corner unit (12 squ.mtrs.). A narrow corridor (with wardrobes)
leads to the bed room (with double bed) and the bath room with
shower.
Casas Típicas are near to the Levada Nova. This water channel
you follow to Ribeira Brava (the neighbouring town) about two
hours walking. In the other direction you will walk two and a
half hours into the wonderful valley of Ponta do Sol. A "minimercado"
is nearby the facilities. Extended supermarkets you may find in
Ribeira Brava.
Size: ca. 40 squ.mtrs. each; occupation:2 people; price per night:
EUR 52,-; no charges for final clenaning and extras; small patio
in front of the home with garden furniture; swimming pool and
flowering gardens.
