Casa Alegre

Quiet and rural is "Casa Alegre", a restored Madeiran farm house. This house connects the individuality of a self-catering holiday home with the amenities of the nearby hotel "Quinta Alegre" in Estreito da Calheta.
On the ground floor and the upper floor you find respectively one apartment, each providing living room (heating), bedroom, simple kitchen and bathroom. The apartment on the upper floor sleeps four people (two bedrooms). In the ground floor apartment clients use the old patio of the farm house, in front of the upper floor apartment there is a wooden balcony. From the house you look onto the garden (vine) and enjoy a marvellous sea view.
The hotel "Quinta Alegre" offers you a breakfast and a dinner if you like. The pool (heated by sun energy) is free for the guests of "Casa Alegre". Small shops you can reach within a 10 minutes walk. A big supermarket and a sea water pool with an artificial sandy beach is to be found in Calheta, five minutes away by car.

You reach the long "levada nova" in 45 minutes on foot - or in a short drive with your car. Following this water channel west or eastbound you will pass chest nut and eucalypse forests, fields, meadows and small villages. The attractive walking areas of Madeira are nearby. A visit to the lively capital Funchal is practible within 45 minutes by car. The public bus stops in Estreito da Calheta several times a day, but we recommend to rent a car (through Madeira-Holidayhomes from 21 euros per day).
